I’ve mentioned previously that I have one child who is gluten-free. He’s not a huge fan of corn tortillas but will eat them if there is no other option; he prefers rice flour tortillas. The only problem is they seem to break easily. We might get just a couple of meals out of them and the rest end up breaking into pieces. I was a picky eater as a kid. I didn’t like meat or cooked vegetables or anything spicy. I liked food that didn’t have a lot of flavor. My mom had three kids to feed and two were my very hungry older brothers, so my pickiness wasn’t really tended to. My pickiness also didn’t end with toddlerhood. I went from being a picky toddler to a picky preschooler and on and on until just after college....

My toddler and I just love heading to the library to see what new books we can discover. I spotted a basic “I Spy” book on the shelf and thought this would be a perfect book to introduce him to, since he just loves pointing things out to me every day. The baby quilt above was made with Charm Packs from the Bliss collection by Moda Cut a Bias Binding: This binding method is very similar to the one last week. The major difference is that instead of cutting the fabric straight across the grain of the fabric, we are going to cut it on the bias. Cutting something on the bias means to cut diagonally across the grain of the fabric....

Not only did I learn more about food pairing and creating delicious bite-sized snacks, there were classes on photo styling and stop motion video. We heard from Brittany Wright on food styling, she has a killer instagram account, Meagan and Amber of Visual Country with tips on how to make great stop motion video, and Chef Paul Osher on how to reinvent snacking while keeping up big flavors! Since the event, I’ve put all of my new skills to work....
