Supplies for Jell-O Flag: Jell-O – Blue or Red Jell-O color works best for the background. Whip cream – I like to use the cream from a spray can as it forms a better line for the flag. It also makes it look kinda wavy. Red fruit – strawberries or raspberries are delish. Blueberries – for the corner as stars. Now, here I am, a mother of 5, proud of the work ethic that they instilled in me. It’s something I try to teach my own children. And, it’s a quality I feel is so valuable, as a mother. Aren’t there a million things to juggle, when you’re a mom? We don’t have much choice BUT to work hard. Sometimes the list seems never-ending… Making sure the kids are healthy and exercising Keeping up on doctor appointments, birthdays, homework Taking them to dance, sports, scouts, and their friend’s homes Keeping the house orderly, laundry done, dinner on the table, and the pantry stocked Paying the bills, getting the internet fixed and the house sprayed for spiders Keeping kids smelling fresh with clean bums Making sure the kids are socially, spiritually, and emotionally fed …and on, and on, and on....

Every corner pizza parlor or deli in our neighborhood in New York had their own version of an Antipasto Salad. This is our version. When I sent my husband to work with a home lunch, I would often pack this salad with an easy balsamic vinegar and oil dressing, and if he was lucky, a piece or two of crusty bread....

In this salad, I’ve used radishes and carrots I got from my local CSA. Feel free to change it up with different veggies, or add more. Celery, broccoli, water chestnuts, baby corn, cucumber, zucchini, tomatoes, and shredded cabbage would be great additions. Possibilities are endless with this tasty veggie salad. I sprinkled the top with toasted sesame seeds, green onions, and broccoli microgreens. If you can’t find broccoli microgreens, substitute bean or alfalfa sprouts....

These wild hats take very little prep work, aren’t super messy, and are perfect for both little and big crafty kiddos. And, they are SO fun to make! Craft them in honor of the great Dr. Seuss and wear them proudly. Start with a 12″x18″ sheet of colored construction paper. Cut strips along the length of the paper, leaving a 3″-4″ uncut band of paper at the bottom. No need for the strips to be cut perfectly straight or all the same size – just wing it!...

Supplies: an old pair of blue jeans quilt batting sewing machine sewing pins felt or fleece fabric, for the back side Instructions: Before you begin cutting out the pieces for the pot holder, cut all the way up one seam (the outer seam would be easiest) so you can open the jeans up and have a single flat surface to work with....

Yes, I accept hugs from strangers. I was browsing Redbook, the other day, and read about a study completed by The University of Bristol, where they followed 13,000 kids from infancy to age 7. They found that picky eaters “met the same calorie and nutrient quotas as veggie-loving kids. And there were no major differences in weight and height between the two group. Veggies are a terrific source of folic acid, B vitamins, and calcium, but kids can also get those in fortified cereals, bananas, peaches, citrus fruits, peanuts, yogurt, cheese, milk, and orange juice....

We’ve been using this method for a couple of weeks and it’s been such a hit. Thanks to my friend Pam, (I’m giving her all the credit), I’ve never had my kids eat so many veggies. I’ve had to fill the tray almost every other day, wahoo!
