Here is a quick step by step on how we painted our little Minions rocks. These takes no time, but the kiddos loved spending time playing Tic-Tac-Toe. With a white pastel, draw a horizon line across the paper. Add a half-circle sun sitting on the horizon and sunshine ray lines going from the sun to the edge of the paper. Below the horizon line, use the white pastel to add wavy lines across the paper for the water. Gather all the warm-color pastels – reds, oranges, and yellows. Color the sun and rays, trying not to color too much on the white lines....

In addition to paper and black markers, you’ll need a shape die to play this drawing game. I covered a jumbo foam die with masking tape, and drew a different shape on each face (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, and trapezoid). If you don’t have any dice around the house, here’s a printable cube template you could use (via A to Z Teacher Stuff). Take turns rolling the shape die and adding shapes to your scarecrow....

One of my favorite things about this not so traditional sugar cookie recipe is that you can easily make it all year long. Supplies for Name Tracing Activity: paper colored pencils or crayons Start by writing your name on the paper, preferably in black. Make sure you’ve got an upper case letter to start and lower case letters to follow. Then using a new color of pencil, trace around the name in a bubble type form. Trace around and around, and around, until you’ve filled the whole paper with lines. This is a great activity for older children, but my 4 year old loved practicing too....
