Family Zig Zag Thankful Book

Supplies for Zig-Zag Thankful Book: decorative paper scissors or paper slicer glue letter stickers pen or markers Slice your paper into 4 inch wide strips. It doesn’t really matter how long your paper is, as you can always glue more pieces on. My paper is a 12×12 paper and I cut it into 4×12 strips. I will only use 2 of the strips, as I only have 5 people in my family....

Five Senses Poetry For Kids

Since my girls were preschoolers, we have been writing poems together. I love seeing little snippets of their imaginations and thoughts in the words of their poems. One of our all-time favorite types of poems to write are five senses poems. For this poem, your child describes an experience, item, or color using the five senses. We usually start with an experience, such as crunching through the autumn leaves or baking our favorite cookies....

Heart Shaped Animals

You will need to cut out A LOT of hearts. All colors and sizes. I did most (okay all) of the cutting, but I did try to help both my kids get used to using scissors for this project. I like to fold the paper in half first. Then cut out half of a heart on the fold. That will help the hearts be more symmetrical. I tried to cut some hearts free-hand, but I just went back to folding the paper....

Mint Lemonade

Recipe for Mint Lemonade: 4 cups water 2 1/2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice (8-10 lemons) 1/4 cup finely diced mint 1 cup sugar First, prepare your mint. My brother likes to de-vein the mint leaf, so it doesn’t taste too earthy, then dices it up super fine. Then squeeze your fresh lemons.
