Going along with our butterfly watching, we read some books for storytime this week that fit perfectly into our Butterfly theme. We’re going to work out some fun ways to get silly with Dr. Seuss and make up our own nonsense words that will be the center of our own story! After reading it the other day we drew some creatures of our own, gave them names, and figured out where they would live. I cut out pictures of furniture and other objects from an old catalog, but you could simply draw the furniture also or even take some pictures of actual furniture you have in your house....

Start with a sheet of light blue construction paper, a bunch of pre-cut paper shapes (rectangles, squares, and triangles), and a glue stick.
