Chocolate Hazelnut Bark

I love making bark because it is so easy and everyone loves it. This chocolate hazelnut bark has a secret ingredient-Nutella. After the chocolate is melted, I stir in hazelnut extract and a big scoop of Nutella. It melts right in with the chocolate and creates a dreamy bark after it hardens. I top the bark off with chopped hazelnuts and break it up into pieces. Place the bark in a cute little tin, holiday gift bag, or a festive plate and give the gift of chocolate hazelnut bark this year....

Colorful Painted Craft Sticks

These are so fun to make – I bet your kids will want to paint a bunch like my girls did! I set-up two painting stations – a palette of acrylic paints and small containers of liquid watercolors. Near the acrylic paints, I had assorted paintbrushes, water for rinsing brushes, and a rag for drying. The acrylic paints cover the wood craft stick with nice, solid color. The paint dried fairly quickly, so we were able to paint a solid color, set it aside for a few minutes, then come back and add dots, stripes, and other designs....

Diy Painterly Style Glasses

Recently, I’ve found a bit of a solution and a great use for my “fancy” glasses: I turn them into votive holders! So, I experimented with glass painting and I played around with some techniques to give my “fancy” glasses a little colorful personality. I painted the glasses painterly style and then popped some candle votives inside. The result definitely channeled my inner-child-of the-80’s and made the room smile....

Fun Ways To Practice Writing The Alphabet

As she’s just starting out, we go slow and easy. We play this little game that she loves. I write 5 letters at a time on a piece of paper. Sometimes it’s just the uppercase letters, sometimes lowercase, and sometimes both. I make sure she watches me write each letter, helping her see how I formed them. Then I put a large rectangular box under the written letters and tell her to try writing each letter in the box below....

Giving Your Watercolor Paintings A Little Sprinkle Of Salt

When it comes to messy projects, I like to be prepared. I lined my table with a cheap plastic tablecloth, the kind from the party section. It’s easy to wipe off or discard if it gets too messy. Before, I have made these great hooded towels for my kids and their bath time. They are shivering when they get out of the tub and these towels cover them head to toe. How To Make A Diy Concrete And Wood Planter

Make a DIY Concrete and Wood Planter In full disclosure, this planter was a little trial and a whole lot of error before we got it right. In saying that, the first step-by-step photographs are taken from the first planter we tried. When the concrete fell apart shortly after removing the mold, we re-made it using different concrete. The process is still exactly the same, but I’ll go into a little more detail so you know what works and what doesn’t....
